Olorama, a company specializing in olfactory technology and sensory intelligence, has been selected as one of the Top 50 startups in the 2026 VDS Startup Competition, one of the most prominent entrepreneurship and innovation programs in the European ecosystem.
This recognition comes after a record-breaking edition of the competition, which received 1,560 applications from 87 countries, a 25% increase over 2025, solidifying the VDS Startup Competition as one of the leading international platforms for identifying startups with the greatest growth potential.
The selection process, conducted in collaboration with Plug and Play, initially brought together the 100 most innovative startups from markets such as Spain, the United States, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Germany, and Estonia. After a further evaluation phase, Olorama has secured a spot among the 50 semifinalists, a group representing some of the most disruptive technology projects on the international scene.
This recognition represents a significant boost for the Valencia-based company, which is revolutionizing the way brands use the sense of smell to create memorable experiences, strengthen their identity, and improve their emotional connection with customers and users.

The startup has developed a technology platform that enables the design, management, and deployment of smart olfactory experiences for physical spaces, events, retail, hospitality, museums, healthcare, and other environments where the user experience makes all the difference. Its technology combines hardware, software, and a carefully curated selection of fragrances to transform scent into a new channel of interaction between brands and people.
Following this selection, Olorama continues in the race toward the finals of the VDS Startup Competition 2026. From the 50 semifinalist startups, 25 finalists will be chosen to present their projects on the Main Stage at the Valencia Digital Summit 2026, taking place on October 21 and 22 at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia.
Olorama’s inclusion among the selected startups reinforces the growing international standing of innovation developed in the Valencian Community and highlights the potential of sensory technologies as one of the emerging fields with the greatest capacity to transform people’s experiences.
